Karen Gillespie
Karen Gillespie is a self taught artist, who has only recently discovered her passion for painting. Born and raised in the East Kootenays, Karen moved to Grand Forks as a young mother, and it has been her home for thirty years.
Once her two sons were grown, Karen found herself with free time, and began to explore different creative outlets. She hit her stride the first time she picked up a paintbrush, and hasn’t looked back since.
Karen works in both watercolour and acrylic, drawing inspiration from nature. Her love for the Boundary Country shows, for her work is not foggy greys of the coast, nor the dusty tones of the interior, but instead the rich, clear colours of flowers and fruit, water and sky.
