“Making baskets out of natural materials helps me connect to the land. It’s my own personal process of reconciliation. The Okanagan Syilx territory is abundant, but also, much has been lost. The knowledge I glean from books and teachers is not mine, the trees are not mine. Everything is borrowed. My intention is to share knowledge, respect the history and culture and help to ensure that the process is not lost. I’m open to conversation, open to learning and to doing better. i donate a portion of the sales of each basket to Spirit North.” Lindsey Mennell
